Felipe Valenzuela

For some he was Ipe, for others he was Pepe, but for me he was Papa. Our life crossed path briefly in time from 1974 when I first met his daughter until 1982 when my marriage with his daughter ended but during those years I learned to know and love the man. A gentleman who always walk tall. A good father in law. He always carry a big sincere smile that is why he is so easy to get along with. He is generous, caring and most of all forgiving. After my separation I occasionally see him in Greenhills and each time, I always reach for his right hand for blessing (mag mano) and after he will put his hand on the back of my shoulder as if he wants to say that its alright, everything is fine with us.
When my father died in 1993 he came to pay his respect, something I wasn't able to do to him when he passed away last August 15 2012, which makes me feel so sad. I owe him this respect. I only learned of his death after four months here in America. I also learned that he spend his last years in his hometown of Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, a place he loves so much. Papa you maybe gone but you will never be forgotten. rqt
